To The Top Fitness: BCAAs
Muscle mass is determined by two opposing forces: the rate at which muscle is broken down and the rate at which it is synthesized. The leaner a body gets, the more likely it is to lose muscle mass as the body begins prioritizing sparing the remaining fat stores. As this shift occurs, the human body will start burning more muscle mass to make up for the energy imbalance.
Now, it might seem near impossible to become both leaner and bigger simultaneously; however, proper supplementation can make it possible to strike this fine balance. BCAA’s, Leucine, Isoleucine, and Lysine, are key amino acids that not only increase the rate of protein synthesis but also the cell’s capacity for protein synthesis. When supplementing with BCAA’s, it’s possible to slow down and even reverse the rate of muscle breakdown associated with leaner body mass.
It is, of course, important to keep up with proper training and nutrition, but with small adjustments like supplementation with naturally occuring amino acids, it’s possible to enhance your physique to new levels.
